
Janet is a compassionate and highly skilled Registered Psychotherapist dedicated to supporting veterinary professionals and their unique challenges. With a degree in Sociology from the University of Toronto and a graduate of the Toronto Centre for Psychotherapy and Counselling Education, Janet combines her expertise with a deep understanding of the veterinary field and the human-animal bond, to foster resilience and well-being among individuals and teams.
As a member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA) and the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO), Janet integrates evidence-based therapeutic approaches with mindfulness, positive psychology, and relational therapies. Her specialized certifications in Couples & Family Therapy, Gottman Level I, Grief Education, Mindful Meditation, and Holding Space allow her to address the emotional complexities of veterinary medicine, including compassion fatigue, grief, and workplace stress.
In addition to her private practice, Janet is a public speaker and educator, provides psychotherapy services for two independent psychotherapy organizations, and facilitates group sessions designed to enhance mental wellness among individuals, leaders and team members. Passionate about creating safe and supportive environments, Janet helps veterinary professionals and teams heal, grow, and thrive in their hospitals, professional, and personal lives.
