Philip is a seasoned leader, consultant, and co-founder of Pawsitive Edge, dedicated to supporting veterinary professionals and the complex environments in which they work. With over three decades of experience across veterinary medicine, leadership, psychology, and technology, he brings a rare combination of strategic insight and front-line understanding of veterinary practice. A Certified Hospital Administrator with the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA), Philip’s work is grounded in the human–animal bond and the belief that sustainable veterinary medicine depends on healthy, supported people.
Throughout his career, Philip has been head-hunted into leadership and consulting roles, including work with five pharmaceutical organizations. He played a key role in developing markets and delivering education and training programs for veterinary teams, including creating and establishing Aventix Animal Health. His experience spans pharmaceutical education, hospital consulting, software development and organizational training. He co-purchased a veterinary hospital and managed it for 17 years, working on the front lines of veterinary practice, alongside veterinarians and hospital teams, grounding his work in real-world clinical and relational experience.
As co-founder of Pawsitive Edge, Philip integrates positive psychology, mindfulness, and grounded leadership into daily veterinary practice. With dual degrees in psychology and the sciences, and additional certifications in Couples & Family Therapy, strengths-based workplace development, and mindfulness-based approaches, he developed AVET™ to help individuals and teams identify their core essence, cultivate awareness, and bring steadiness into their work. Emotionally attuned and deeply human in his approach, Philip supports veterinary professionals in reconnecting with meaning, presence, and purpose—both in their hospitals and in their lives beyond them.
Together, as co-founders of Pawsitive Edge, Janet and Philip are committed to creating safe, supportive, and grounded spaces for veterinary professionals and teams. Their work honours the emotional realities of veterinary medicine while fostering resilience, clarity, and connection at both individual and organizational levels. Rooted in the human–animal bond, their shared vision is to support those who care for others—helping veterinary professionals heal, grow, and thrive in their hospitals, their careers, and their lives.
